Botborgs And an Emerging Solana Blue Chip

The Mint

The Botborgs mint was one of a series of popular mints on Magic Eden that went a little haywire. The network couldn't keep up with mint requests and it took most people multiple attempts to complete their mint, despite being on the white list. 

At a 2.5 SOL mint price, this was a fairly expensive mint, but this was also a fairly well-developed project at the time of mint. You can see below that there were completed models and early game play.

More of the Botborg Universe is on the way

The Botborgs mint is just the beginning of this project too. NFT projects that grow long-term are building both a community and some sort of game or utility. That's true for BAYC and it's true for Botborgs. 

There's a game in development with some early peaks available and a beta is expected next week (for PC users). A token is also expected, but that's not available yet. 

I also expect planets to be available for sale, or auction, and bunkers are expected as well. 

The first Botborg NFT is out, giving holders a character of their own. Here's what we know about the game and what's coming next. 

Planets

There are three types of planets currently contemplated for the Borgverse. 

1. Community Planets - These planets are just what they seem and feature NFTs and art and places to hang out with others in the universe.

2. PVP Planets - Each planet will have a different game, like first person shooters, racing, boat battles, and more.

3. Solo Planets - Single player planets with goals or games for a single player. There will also be trainers, so players can improve their game play.

No matter what kind of gamer you are, there should be something for everyone in Borgverse. 

Travel

There will be portals on each planet that are a gateway to other planets. But there will also be spaceships, which also begins a PVP space battle if others are flying around. Users can be shot down in transport to another planet, being respawned elsewhere.

Why the Borgverse could be a Solana Blue Chip

The team has already shown a large amount of work on Twitter and says a beta is coming next week. Next is completing 10 planets where users will be able to play and earn tokens. 

There's a vision to have character customizations, including upgrades from NFT purchases. This could open up a way to spend tokens or SOL in the game to create better Botborgs. 

Expanding the team and hiring an event planner are also on the short-term roadmap for the Botborgs team. 

Long-term, the vision is to allow others to build their own planets with custom games. They would also like to create a bridge to the Ethereum ecosystem, allowing users to connect Ethereum and Solana assets in the Borgverse. Of course, a marketplace for buying and selling assets is on the roadmap as well. 

This is an ambitious project, but it's already delivering for Botborg holders. If the team can keep development momentum going and deliver a token, plant auctions, and great game play this could be one of the first real Solana metaverse games for the masses. 

Botborgs aren't cheap at 6.1 SOL as I'm writing, but I will be holding on to mine and hope to participate in future mints or auctions as assets become available. It the team keeps delivering on building, holders will keep profiting by holding. I'm just excited for the jetpacks!
