Psychedelics Anonymous -- January 15 Update

The Psychedelics Anonymous project doesn't seem to stay still for long and the community is buzzing with theories on what we should be holding, what game we're playing, and what snapshots are being taken and what they mean.

In this update, I'll unpack what we know, theories about the game we're playing, and speculate about the future. Given the depth and breath of this community, I can't capture everything and I'll update this post and others with what I learn. If you have input, send me a DM on Twitter.

Merchandise and PA stuff

PA project leader Voltura has talked about wanting to make a high-end brand for the NFT market with Psychedelics Anonymous, but we haven't seen much about what the means ... until now.

The first thing we saw after the mint was a book. In The Mycelium on discord, it was revealed that each full set that's held in a wallet will get Component #2 (more on that later) and a book NFT (shown below). Minters of the full set will get the physical book and the book NFT, while those who didn't mint will be able to redeem the NFT for a physical book (that's me).

An interesting note is that there will be a "supply reduction mechanism for the Book NFT", which is presumably done by redeeming the Book NFT for the physical book, which will be relate to Component #3.

There are also sweatsuits on the horizon as well. There's a dark and light version, which will likely be available for purchase by holders.

A shoe was also floated, but was quickly spiked by the community. Take your shot, but that one was a miss. I'm excited to see what the team tries for next!

The game

There's a lot of tortoise and the Hare Game Theory in PA. Voltura has mentioned it himself, indicating that there will be ways to sit back and play the game and still win, while others can be more active.

Popular culture tells the story of the tortoise always winning this race, but I don't think that will be the case. And remember that Voltura has said he wants to build this project over 3-5 years, so there could be a lot going on here.

Components

Components are clearly important to the game and we're starting to learn more about how. Component #1 was part of the mint, but Component #2 will be a free NFT available to full-set holders, likely in the next week (it will cost gas). Here's an image of the component from PA.

It didn't take long for the community to figure out that Components #1, #2, and #3 together will make Psilocybin, which is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound, commonly known to be found in mushrooms. Here's your psychedelics tie, people.

Divine Entities MP

Divine Entities have been discussed at length by Voltura but hasn't been defined clearly either. A "Devine Entity" is the offspring of a god and is mortal, but has some of the powers of a god, like Hercules. The consensus forming is that the Divine Entities are some kind of profile pic NFT that will come later in the game that will be at a lower level than the genesis PFP.

MP is also a topic of discussion, which could mean "mycelium pass", "metaverse pass", "mutation potion", "molecular pathology", or something similar. Divine Entities are not the same as Divine Entities MP -- that much is clear -- and this week we got the most complete equation yet.

This tweet was both informative and cryptic. Holders across the PA landscape have been trying to figure out what it means. The parentheses here are important but incomplete, so I think we can decipher a few of potential meanings depending on how you interpret the word "or" in the equation. I'll write these out with more parentheses to make them clearer.

1. (Hold a Component #1, #2, #3) + Hold (Meta or IRL) + (Burn x 4) = DE MP > ?

   1. In this interpretation, you would have to hold all three components and a meta or IRL pass and then burn four of something to get a Divine Entities MP.

2. Hold Component #1, #2, #3 and a Meta Pass = Divine Entities MP

3. Hold IRL Pass + (Burn x 4) = Divine Entities MP

You can see here that the word "or" is the key. Is this one long equation or is it two equations separated by the word "or". My inclination is the latter, which would mean that there are two ways to get a Divine Entities MP. First, you could hold Component #1, #2, #3 and a Meta Pass and you would simply get one. Since Components #2 will be dropped to holders of sets and #3 will likely be something similar, this would be a benefit for playing the game for longer.

The IRL Pass + (Burn x 4) = Divine Entities MP equation is less clear since we don't know what (Burn x 4) refers to. Could this mean someone can hold an IRL Pass and "grind" their way to a Divine Entities MP? Is there something coming in the future that will be burnable?

I think #2 and #3 that I highlighted above make the most sense and give holders and grinders a way to get to the same place. This would be an example of the tortuous and the hare paths to play the game.

PAPP?!?

The most recent snapshot warning was for PAPP. There have typically been three snapshot warnings, but we're not certain what PAPP is.

The speculation among users is centered around this being a Psychedelics Anonymous Printing Pass. This could be the snapshot for the Book NFT or somehow related to printing a physical book.

For now, there's only speculation on what PAPP means.

Secret Snapshots

We know that there's been at least one secret snapshot. What that's for is unknown, but expect more, incentivizing a buy and hold strategy. Remember, the game never stops and if you do there may be consequences.
